Dr Ryan Ridgway

Dr Ridgway is truly interested in all aspects of medicine that mixed practice has to offer. With a background in farming Hereford cattle and showing Arab horses, he entered veterinary medicine with a degree in agriculture under his belt. He is our resident horse whisperer and farm animal specialist. In small animal medicine, he has a particular interest in cardiology.

Dr Lynn Smart-Ridgway

Dr Smart-Ridgway is a pet enthusiast who is fueled by a love of emergency medicine and surgery. With extensive experience in soft-tissue surgery, she’s adept at everything from trauma repair, to intestinal resection, to delivering puppies via emergency c-section. She’s passionate about stress- and fear- reduction in veterinary patients, and always puts patient (and client) comfort first.

Mariia

MSc Veterinary Medicine

Mariia is a veterinarian from Ukraine, who worked in small animal practice for several years prior to relocating to Canada. She is currently working as a skilled technician as she achieves her Canadian vetarinary accreditation. Mariia’s areas of special interest include feline medicine and ultrasonography.

Emma is an experienced veterinary nurse who’s background in equine referral medicine brings an essential skill set to our mixed practice. Her smiling voice and caring bedside manner comforts patients and their people, and she excels at helping people through difficult decisions.

Alissa keeps our hospital running! She is a proud dog mom with a passion for helping other pet owners. Not only does her boundless knowledge answer nearly every client query, she also provides the leadership, assistance and resources that our medical staff relies upon to excel.

Veterinary Assistant &
Receptionist

Always with a smile on her face, Jen is a skilled and experienced veterinary assistant with a background in shelter medicine. When she’s not busy caring for our dog, cat, or equine patients, she can be found helping clients and greeting pets at the reception desk.

Susan

Receptionist

Whether greeting you with her infectious laugh, or offering heartfelt words of comfort, Susan is who you’ll likely meet first when you come through the front door. With several pampered pets of her own, she’s always happy to meet your fur-family, and ensure that their (and your) time with us is as comfortable as possible.

If you’ve ever noted how fresh our veterinary hospital smells, or how clean and polished it always looks, Michelle is the one to thank! A  sanitized space is essential for disease control and patient safety, and Michelle is an expert in this area. While she may toil away from the public eye, the result of her hard work never goes unnoticed.

Lotis

Veterinary Assistant

Lotis’s calm and compassionate nature is contagious! She is an expert at soothing aggressive and anxious patients. This skill extends beyond dogs and cats – she can coax chickens to stand still for a blood test, and has been known to have an unruly pig snoring with just a few minutes of expert scratching and soothing.

Wayne’s formal education in human nursing has fitted her with an excellent technical skill set for our furry and feathered patients. Whether she’s assisting in a consult room, or sterilizing instruments for surgery, her care and attention to detail help ensure patient safety and comfort are never compromized.
