If your pet has a medical emergency during regular business hours, call the clinic at 250-295-0312 to notify us of the nature of your emergency, as well as your estimated time of arrival. If you call and hear a message during regular business hours, it means the phone line is busy. Leave a message and then start travelling to the clinic immediately afterwards. It is important that you call first if at all possible, as we may instruct you to perform certain life-saving steps depending on the nature of the emergency prior to you travelling to the clinic. This is especially important for pet owners who are outside of town limits. Severe medical emergencies will take priority over non-emergency scheduled appointments.

Has your pet recently visited us for urgent care during regular hours? If you’ve got questions about their ongoing care, and it’s not an immediate life-or-death emergency, feel free to reach out via email for advice (see link below).
Please note that email is NOT a way to reach us for emergencies. We check email every few hours during evenings and weekends, provided we are within range of wifi or a cell signal, and will respond with after-hours advice for onging cases only. We may advise things you can do at home, or that you seek care at an after-hours emergency clinic. There is no additional charge for email correspondence, but please not that it is for current, ongoing cases only, and all other cases will be responded to during regular business hours. If you are unsure if your pet can wait until you receive an email response, please seek immediate care at an after-hours emergency hospital.

We provide hospitalization for pets who require intensive veterinary care and are not able to be cared for in their own homes. Your pet will be comfortable and well looked after during their stay. Pets are monitored throughout the night. We provide regular up-dates on your pet’s condition, and encourage owners to schedule a time to visit their pet in hospital regularly. Just like us, pets appreciate a visit from a familiar face when they’re not feeling well.
When your pet needs care urgently, quick results on diagnostic tests can mean the difference between life-and death. We have a comprehensive in-house lab with extensive ability for blood and urine tests, drug toxicity tests, infectious disease testing, and ECG cardiac testing, all with results in 30 minutes or less. We also offer in-house bacterial culture and sensitivity testing, meaning difficult infections can receive targeted treatment in 48 hours, rather than waiting a week for referral lab results.
In addition to these testing modalities, we are equipped with a high-definition digital x-ray and ultrasound with colour-doppler, which give us the ability to visualize and pinpoint problems.
Our surgical team offers much more than just spay and neuter services.
We are experienced in trauma surgery for cases such as dog fights, lacerations, hit-by-car or kicked-by-horse. For anything requiring specialist orthopedic intervention, we can administer treatments that stabilize your pet for safe transfer to a referral hospital.
Many sick pets require surgical treatment. Whether your pet requires bladder stones removed, or has something lodged in it’s digestive tract, has a traumatically injured eye that requires removal rather than medical treatment, or is in need of an emergency caesarian section, we provide these surgical services and much more.
